CEO Abdullah Abdullah on Wednesday said that mudslinging in terms of political disagreements and provocative statements by politicians will only benefit the enemies of the country.
He called on these politicians to refrain from such antics and instead unite in order to avoid further crises.
"If we come and dismantle the war whether it is because of the statements of government officials or those who are in opposition or outside the government including the political leaders of the country, if we confuse this front, then God forbid, it means that we are pouring water into into the enemies mill," said Abdullah.
Abdullah made the remarks during a ceremony in Kabul to rename Kabul's Zanbaq Square - the scene of the May 31 truck bombing and subsequent shooting of five demonstrators.
The name has been changed to Shaheed Mohammad Salem Ezedyar and Jawza Martyrs of Kabul City Square.
Salem Ezedyar was one of five people killed during a protest two days after the truck bombing.
Ezadyar's father said the Afghan government has failed to define a working security strategy to foil attacks such as the May 31 bombing. He also said none of the incidents had been investigated in a satisfactory manner by government.
"Unfortunately these incidents are consecutively repeated and there is no strategy to prevent these episodes," said Ezadyar.
"They said that you must be shameful because you (Abdullah) ignored the blood of the people because of Sapidar (Sapidar Palace where Abdullah works), if really, we had committed such an act, then we should die," said Abdullah, referring to recent remarks by Balkh governor Atta Mohammad Noor in which he said that the CEO ignored the blood of people because of his job.
The May 31 truck bombing, which took place close to Zanbaq Square was detonated at the entrance to the heavily fortified Green Zone. The explosion tore through the Wazir Akbar Khan area and killed over 150 people and wounded hundreds more.
Experts have said it was one of the biggest bombs to hit the city in the past 17 years.
Two days after the bombing, demonstrators gathered at the blast scene to raise their voices over what they described as government's failure to tackle terror attacks in the city. But the demonstration turned violent when members of the Afghan National Police (ANP) opened fire on the protestors killing at least five of them including Mohammad Salem Ezadyar, the son of first deputy of senate Mohammad Alam Ezadyar.
The attack in Zanbaq Square was followed by a massive public outcry and critics blasted leaders of the National Unity Government (NUG) including President Ashraf Ghani and his CEO Abdullah Abdullah for "failing to fix the fragile security situation in the country".
Abdullah's close ally Atta Mohammad Noor went a step forward and accused the CEO of making compromises that resulted in the death of civilians.
"The uprising for change still wants the resignation of Mr. Ashraf Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah, the Uprising for Change also wants the case of leaders of national unity government to be sent to the international criminal court so that these officials are prosecuted in connection with the killing of members of Uprising for Change. The Uprising for Change also demands the resignation of the national security advisor and minister of interior, head of the national directorate of security, the commander of Kabul Garission general Dawoud Tarakhail," said Sakhizada, a member uprising for change.
